Yul, obviously you were out of line, I'm not going to rehash all the drama that has been going on. You and I had a lot of normal life talks, at this point I don't know if I can believe anything you said. So you're either a liar who played me very well or you are a sad man who made inappropriate attempts to hook up with girls online when you have a wife at home...you can say the hook ups were for the 'story' but I think we all see through that BS. Even though I am not impressed at all from the things I have heard I am equally disgusted at Cliffs perverted comments throughout the season. I don't really want to vote for either of you but it is what it is. So Yul, explain to me your strategy, I want to know how long you were playing me and what strategic moves you made to get you to F2. and I don't want any BS so answer honestly bc the jury will tell me if you feed me anymore lies....and if you lie Cliff will 100% get my vote
Just to make a few statements before I answer your question I am nOT some perverted guy at home looking to hook up with girls online that is soooo far from who I am in real life. I know no one is going to believe when I say I did it just for show. Obviously Brandon can't come in here and say "Yul told me up front he was going to do this for show" because then he'd be interjecting with the FTC process but for clarification ANYONE is more then willing to ask him after the game.
Regarding how long I was playing you and strategy. My initial goal was to be very social and get a chance to talk to and meet everyone. Of course there were a few people who I made strong bonds with, Bob although he hates my guts now, Ethan, Silas, Spencer, Gillian and you. The list of those people are people who I spoke with beyond game because I genuinely liked talking to them and felt a connection. Although I spoke with Taj, JR, Mary and Jefra with them it was 95% or more game talk.
So back to strategy...I wanted to be very social and talk to everyone and that's what I did. I planned to lay low the first few rounds and not show that I was a super challenge threat or social threat and it worked out fine. Very early in the game I was pegged back. I had Julie as a golden bond so any ideas of idols were clearly out the picture during round two. This made me rethink things even more and knew I had to get on people's good side because I was already at a disadvantage super early in the game.
All the boys formed one huge alliance as everyone knew. The first major hiccup was Kass calling me out, her saying I was very social was indeed true although she was as well. I felt it put a large target on my back, whether it did or not I don't know. That's the reason why I pushed so hard for her boot it was a very crucial point in the game where the game could sway to girls or guys way. Fortunately things went my way and Kass went home.
All the while you and I RC became good friends. ALL THE TALKS we had outside of game regarding our families and spouses was all absolute genuine. You can ask anyone on the jury or outside the jury if I used my wife or baby talks or anything with them they'll tell you NO but the reason why I discussed it in great detail with you is because I felt we were on the same page or stage in our lives. I had legit questions that you answered for and give me tips on and I am forever thankful for that, no joke, no BS, no playing you...genuinely thankful. In the back of my head I knew I wanted a girl to work with and you were going to be that girl. We spoke literally everyday for at least a hour. I grew fond of you and I wanted to work with you.
I told Bob Dawg and some of the other boys little bits of our conversations but never how close I was with you and some of the deeper conversations we had, none of them, the reason why is because I genuinely planned to work with you deep into this game. Final 10 I believe came and a wrench was thrown in all my plans.
JR came back and got auto immunity. I figured no big deal we'll just get Jefra or Mary. The problem that happened is Jefra won immunity and Mary I had already told Mary to use her idol which I will get back to that in a moment. So the only option was you. It killed me playing you like that but there was no option. Had you stayed and a boy went home we'd have 5 guys Ethan, Bob, Silas, Spencer and myself vs you, Jefra, Mary and JR (whom Kass told me would be siding with the girls) at that point I thought all it would take is for ONE guy to flip and that's it myself, Bob or Ethan could be gone. So buy getting rid of you it protected not only me but also the guys alliance. I knew if you used the idol it would be a guy 100% going home that's why I was so adamant about you not using it and trying to hold it. Also although I felt we had a strong connection PARANOIA was at all time high and I really didn't know if you were playing me as well. So eventually you didn't play the idol and went.
Going back to Mary. Bob Dawg and I did a lot of strategizing earlier on in the game. We had BobDawg go to Mary and act like he was flipping, in reality Bob Dawg filled us in on everything. Mary bought everything Bob said but when it came time for the KASS vote that round Bob of course voted with the boys.
So at this point Mary turned to me and tried to out Bob to me so I acted surprised and pissed at Bob, but truthfully Bob and I always informed each other of everything. Now as I mentioned earlier it was EXTREMELY crucial some idols were burnt before the merge since there would be tons of them and I wouldn't have any. During your vote off RC I pushed the idea that Mary was going to be the vote. Mary is a stellar player if anyone knows her outside this game. I PW'd a game she did very well in....Anyways, she burned not 1 but 2 idols in the course of this game because of the idea Bob/I came up with. Even after you were gone RC she still decided to work with me.
JR was the next to go. We didn't know if we could fully trust JR and we looked at him as if he was with the girls so he was voted off just by sheer numbers.
The Silas vote off round was a real shocker for me and I had to quickly adapt my game. It was the first time I hadn't controlled the game or the votes. Jefra was suppose to be the vote that round however I had a sneaking suspicion that Spencer/Cliff or both would flip. I went to Ethan, Silas and Bob and even told them this earlier before tribal council. The votes came and I was CRUSHED to see Silas go. Indeed Cliff/Spencer had flipped.
So at this point my game is in the toilet...you have Mary and Jefra who are now queens in the game along with Cliff and Spencer then me and Ethan on the bottom. Bob was in the middle of all this.
Bob and I were pretty tight earlier on in the game but he gave me so many different final 4 possibilities for who he wanted that I was quite worried that he might've done the same thing with Ethan, Silas, Cliff and who knows. Luckily I turned to Ethan and we compared notes. Turns out Bob Dawg had a final 2 deal with HIM and also a final 2 deal with myself. Having multiple final deals is the norm in Survivor but IF someone finds out that's the issue. So at that point I knew we had to get Bob. In addition Bob was a very strong, strategic and social player. I knew if I could get Bob out more then likely Jefra and Mary would be my last two obstacles as far as challenges are concerned.
I went to Mary, whom I knew disliked Bob with a passion and told her we needed to make a move on Bob. She said Jefra would be on board and we needed to find a 4th person. I didn't want to just out and say ETHAN or else she might suspect we were together. I let her suggest it. Ethan and I acted like we barely talked however the plan was going how I mapped all along. Mary said convince Ethan to go along with us etc etc. After a day or two I told Mary that Ethan was on board and Bob was voted out.
The next round was EXTREMELY agonizing because at this point Jefra/Mary were the swing vote. I felt Cliff and Spencer were on one side and Ethan and I on the other side and all Jefra and Mary had to do was pick a side. Over the course of the past few rounds Mary and I would talk more and more about the game and strategies and it paid off because she didn't target me or Ethan. Spencer was the target, the reason why Spencer was the target was because it had to be him or Cliff. I knew there was no way Cliff/Spencer would team up with Ethan or us for one MAIN reason. Spencer hated Ethan bad. IDK really why but he did.
This was a huge advantage in playing a good social game. I knew who liked who and who disliked who and who was targeting who. I was able to acquire a lot of information through out the game. I knew exactly who had idols and who didn't have idols just because of information given to me by everyone and i would give tidbits of information to people but i always kept ALL of it to myself.
Going back to the Spencer boot. So I knew if we booted Cliff Spencer STILL wouldn't work with us because of his hatred for Ethan. So we booted Spencer that round with the help of Jefra and Mary.
At this point we were what I kept calling in confessional from the beginning the most pivotal part in the game. Final 5. Really anything could've happened this round. The one MAJOR factor here was Jefra and Mary had shown there cards early as being really strong players in challenges. For this reason Ethan, myself and Cliff all agreed they BOTH couldn't make final 4 as a pair and neither of them could make final 3.
The final 5 challenge came around and I was prepared to stay on for 20 hours or more if I had to. I ended up posting almost once every hour except for about 3 hours. So I put major dedication into it. During this time Jefra had also messaged me and asked me not to hit her and she would return the favor. Cliff had given me the okay to hit him and Ethan did the same as well. So I knew my biggest competitors would really be Mary and Jefra. Through the competition once I took a nice lead I wasn't comfortable because at any point of time Jefra/Mary could team up and steal my flowers and I would be screwed but I had a few things going for me. IF they did that they'd have to show their cards and hope Cliff votes with them and 2. they'd break the 4 way alliance with Ethan and I. Instead I asked Mary if she could just allow me to win. Now some would say it's pathetic but it's not. HOW MANY TIMES have we seen on the real Survivor and BB people ask people to throw a immunity or HoH/Veto competition. Many of times, me asking Mary wasn't me being pathetic it was me trying to use some social effort into getting her to throw it. By this point I was far ahead anyway and she agreed. Thus I ended up winning the Final 5 challenge and Mary went home only because I felt she was the bigger threat out of Jefra and her.
Final 4 Challenge I busted my butt hard and put in ALOT of dedication to win that challenge. This was yet another crucial challenge because literally ANYTHING could happen. I knew my biggest threat was Jefra. I set aside time and put dedication and went for almost 7 hours...I went up 205 rungs and 205 rungs back down. I actually broke the CYS record for most rungs, it was previously was 203. I figured if Jefra was going to beat me in this challenge she'd need the CYS record to do it. Fortunately for me she didn't beat it and I got a pass into the final 3. Jefra was a very nice girl but unfortunately if any girl got to final 2, whether Mary or Jefra they'd easily win. Final 3 would be dangerous with them as well because they'd both crush the rest of us more then likely.
Final 3 came along and I BARELY lost it by a few minutes. Luckily by this time I had been so hated by a few members and with all the drama going on there was no way Cliff would risk taking a universally loved Ethan over myself. I have to admit though I was a bit concerned because anything can happen in addition Cliff told Ethan several times that the jury would look past their hatred for me and look at game moves and game play. Ethan relayed this information back to me. I am sure it was a tops up but ole STIFF CLIFF decided to take me.
I know this was SUPER LONG but it involves a lot of my strategic moves and game play and wanted to detail it out for anyone else who cared as well.
Just to summarize...
1. I wanted to play a social game and speak to everyone and form relationships with everyone which I accomplished.
2. I was able to get my biggest enemy booted before merge (Kass)
3. I played a part in Mary burning 2 idols
4. I tried to sway you RC into not using your idol so as to ensure all the boys stood intact
5. I led the vote off of Bob a very smart, strong, social and strategic player.
6. I had to adapt my game once I knew Cliff/Spencer flipped
7. Working with Jefra/Mary temporarily to get Bob and Spencer out.
8. Winning the final 5 and the final 4 (breaking a CYS record) challenges to ensure my own safety
The above was basically a summary of some of my game moves. There are other ones here and there but these are the ones I mainly thought about for now. I played a pretty low key game at the beginning, I had to adapt when Kass called me out. I then was at the forefront but pulled back a bit. I tried not to win immunity challenges to target myself, just doing well enough to stay in the hunt. When I absolutely needed to win immunities I did, I won the last 2/3 events which are the 3 most important challenges all season and in the process I broke a CYS record. Cliff of course won the most important one but I still managed to make it to the end.
I hope this gives you a insight of my moves, strategies and thinking behind certain things. I know people are mad in the jury. With the exception of Silas and Ethan I had a major hand in everyone else's boot but unfortunately it's a necessary evil in Survivor. I just hope some people can see it for what it was which is game play. This was a game that was filled with ALOT of great players.....Jefra, Mary, RC, Bob Dawg and practically the entire Jury house plus add in Gillian and Kass, literally anyone had a shot at winning this game. Everyone was smart. Without all of you I really wouldn't be here no way no how.
Sorry again for this LONG POST but I wanted to be detailed and show most of my moves.
